Siu-yu, a fnancial analyst who has been working to complete a budget analysis for an investment bank, fnds that a fle containing confdential information has been mysteriously deleted. Her colleague, Dylan, from the I.T. Department, also has no luck tracing the missing fle. Soon after, their boss, John receives a ransom email from someone called K Kidnapper, demanding just $190,000 worth of ransom. The ransom must be paid in three days, otherwise they will share the information to the public. Siu-yu’s superior, Irene, fnds her ex-husband, Tong Fu, a police detective to discreetly carry out an investigation in an attempt to maintain stock prices. While Tong Fu demands everyone to stay in a service apartment, an employee is found missing; a technical ofcer resigns, everyone is a suspect! Demanding just $190,000 worth of ransom, K Kidnapper is on the move. What secret lies behind the mystery?
改編自真人真事。九七年尾，亞洲金融危機，唱片工業開始衰落，前半生都在樂壇幕後打滾，湯馬仕被裁，去墳場應徵管理員也失敗，決定遠走台灣，重新開始，離開之前，把自己珍藏多年黑膠唱片，全部變賣。一七年夏天，他短暫回港，知道老家要拆，故地重遊，廿年來他首次再踏足二手黑膠唱片店……人到中年，一個城市，可以尋回自我？
現任香港公開大學人文社會科學院高級講師。先後畢業於香港演藝學院（電影電視）、香港理工大學（多媒體碩士）、香港大學（心理學）和香港中文大學（體育學）。前香港男子曲棍球代表。過去為香港電台電視部自編自導十部外判記錄片與單元劇，首部長片《點對點》(2014) 於 2013年北京電影節電影市場奪得最具商業潛力獎，第38屆香港國際電影節首映，為香港電影評論學會年度推薦電影，並獲第34屆香港電影金像獎兩項提名：新晉導演以及最佳新演員。剛剛完成第二部劇情長片《逆向誘拐》(2018)。
This short film is created based on a true story. During the Asian Financial crisis at the end of 1997, the music recording industry was experiencing a downturn. Having spent the first half of his life as the producer in the music industry, Thomas got fired from his job and was rejected when applying to be a security guard at the cemetery. He decided to move to Taiwan in search of a new lease of life. Before departing, he sold all the vinyl records from his longtime personal collections. In the summer of 2017, during his brief return to Hong Kong, Thomas revisited a second-hand vinyl record store for the first time in 20 years. As the protagonist and the city of Hong Kong are both on the verge of entering middle-age, can they rediscover their true self?
Born in Hong Kong, Amos WHY is a writer-director for both dramas and documentaries. He obtained degrees in multimedia, sports and psychology. He worked for Derek YEE and TSUI Hark as continuity in the mid-1990s and has extensive working experience in the local media, including print, television and the Internet. He has played field hockey for more than two decades and represented Hong Kong in the 10th National Games of China in 2005. Amos was awarded ten production contracts for 22-minute TV dramas and documentaries by Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) over the last decade. _DOT 2 DOT _(2014) is his feature debut. It was nominated for Best New Director and Best New Performer at the Hong Kong Film Awards in 2015, and was recognized as the film of merit by the Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards in 2015. _NAPPING KID_ (2018) is his second feature.
