After an extensive career in the music business in the 90s as Label Chief at BMG Singapore and Marketing Manager at Rock Records, Joe Ng was also a prominent key player in Singapore’s independent music scene. Aside from promoting alternative rock shows and producing bands, he is best known as the singer-songwriter from the seminal rock outfit, the Padres.
Although Joe’s initial involvement with local cinema saw him dabbling in acting as Director Eric Khoo’s Mee Pok Man (1996), he soon found his niche in producing and composing music for film and television, including award-winning film, Eating Air (1999) and box-office horror hit, The Maid (2005), Hong Kong feature Rule Number One (2008).
He is the sole music partner of Directors Kelvin Tong and Ken Kwek whose Unlucky Plaza (2014) premiered at Toronto International Films Festival and the Singapore International Film Festival.
His other works include The Offering (2016), Battle of the Damned (2013), shark-feature Bait (2012) and other genre and dramatic works.

Formerly the award-winning Marketing Director at film distributor United International Pictures (UIP) Singapore, Flora has worked on over 300 films to-date. Her first foray into producing was as Deputy General Manager at Neo Studios, the former film production company set up by prolific Singapore director Jack Neo 梁智強 of _I Not Stupid_ 小孩不笨 fame. She served as the Head of Content Development and Distribution at Salon Films H.K. Ltd after moving to Hong Kong in 2009 before joining Shanghai-based cinema services and film consultancy firm, Artisan Gateway, as Distribution and Marketing Director. In 2012, she launched the inaugural Hong Kong International Buddhist Film Festival as Festival Manager. She is currently the Managing Director of film distributor United International Pictures (UIP) for Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures in Singapore.

Born in Hong Kong, Amos Why is a writer-director for both dramas and documentaries. He obtained degrees in multimedia, sports and psychology. He worked for Derek Yee and Tsui Hark as continuity in the mid-1990s and has extensive working experience in the media, including print, television and the Internet. He has played feld hockey for more than two decades and represented Hong Kong in the 10th National Games of China in 2005. Amos was awarded ten production contracts for 22-minute TV dramas and documentaries by Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) over the last decade. Dot 2 Dot (2014) is his feature debut. It was nominated for Best New Director and Best New Performer at the Hong Kong Film Awards in 2015, and was recognised as the film of merit by the Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards in 2015.

Wendy Toh is a Singapore-based performer whose numerous acting credits span both screen and theatre. She has acted in awardwinning films and regional television dramas such as HBO Asia’s Serangoon Road. She is also a core member of Tapestry Playback Theatre, and trained and worked with Jinen Butoh School under Atsushi Takenouchi. Wendy also practises a wide range of fine art, creating abstract canvasses and thought-provoking mixed media installations. After graduation, Wendy hopes to deepen her Butoh practice and to further explore physical theatre.

Shu Kei began writing scripts for television when he was still studying in the University of Hong Kong. Amongst the directors he worked with during this period were Ann Hui, Patrick Tam, Yim Ho, Allen Fong and Tsui Hark. In 1980, he wrote the script for John Woo’s To Hell With The Devil. In 1981, he made his directorial debut, Sealed With A Kiss. Since then, he has directed six drama features, including Hu-Du-Men (1996) and A Queer Story (1997) and a documentary, Sunless Days which won a Jury Award at the Rimini Film Festival and a Special Award at the Berlin Film Festival. In addition, he is responsible for the world marketing and distribution of such important Chinese films as Tian Zhuangzhuang’s The Blue Kite, Chen Kaige’s Farewell To My Concubine, Wong Kar-wai’s Ashes Of Time and Chungking Express. He is the producer of Zhang Yuan’s Beijing Bastards and Fruit Chan’s Made In Hong Kong. Before joining the Academy of Performing Arts as Faculty Chair of the School of Film and Television, he taught at the University of Hong Kong and was the Artist-in-Residence of Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1999.

Oliver Chan obtained a Master of Fine Arts in Film, Television and Digital Media, Hong Kong Baptist University. During her studies, she completed several independent short films including Aloha, which won Gold Award and Best Screenplay Award at the 2nd Microfilm Production Support Scheme (Music); and Best Film and Best Screenplay at Golden Flowers Award (2016). Her work Children was nominated in Hong Kong Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival (2015), Reel Women Hong Kong, Salento International Film Festival in Italy, Women Make Waves Taiwan, and Shnit International Film Festival. The short film also won Best Short Film not in the English Language in Portsmouth International Film Festival. In 2017, she became the winner of 3rd First Feature Film Initiative (Higher Education Institution Group) and received funding from the Film Development Fund to implement her project frst feature film Still Human.
Loretta Hui-shan Yang is a Taiwanese film actress and contemporary glass artist

Loretta Hui-shan Yang is a Taiwanese film actress and contemporary glass artist. She is a two-time winner of the Best Leading Actress award at the Golden Horse Awards and winner of the Best Actress prize at the Asia-Pacifc Film Festival, as well as an artist of Chinese glass or liuli. “Beauty transformed” is how Japanese critics have described the multiple talents of Loretta Hui-Shan Yang. Loretta Yang was named Best Leading Actress in the 21st and 22nd Golden Horse Film Awards ceremony. She was the frst actress who won this award two years in a row. Having committed herself to Chinese glass for more than a decade, she has singlehandedly rediscovered the technique of cire-perdue glass casting. She has used this technique to create works with a traditional Chinese artistic ﬂare.
Liao Ching-Song started his career in the 1970s as film editor, and expanded to producing in the late 90s

Liao Ching-Song started his career in the 1970s as film editor, and expanded to producing in the late 90s. With his diverse and sophisticated editing skills, Liao has now worked with director Hou Hsiao-hsien over the past three decades, starting from debut feature Cute Girl (1980), early works A Time to Live, A Time to Die (1985), Dust in the Wind (1986), milestones A City of Sadness (1989), The Puppetmaster (1993) to the latest The Assassin (2015). In addition, Liao Ching-sung also worked with Edward Yang [That Day, on the Beach (1983), Taipei Story (1985) and The Terrorizers (1986)], and Wan Jen [Ah Fei (1983) and Super Citizen Ko (1995)], which listed him amongst the pioneers of the Taiwan New Cinema movement.

Upon graduating from the Film Production Course organised by the Hong Kong Filmmakers Association, Lee Cheuk Pan began his filmmaking career as an assistant director on numerous Hong Kong films helmed by veteran film directors. In 2010, he participated in Hollywood director Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion film set in Hong Kong. In recent years, Cheuk Pan directed microfilms and music videos, and was selected to pitch at several film project markets including the Golden Horse Film Promotion Project market in 2012, Hong Kong HAF in 2014 and Puchon’s Fantastic Film Project market 2014. In 2017, Cheuk Pan won the sole CreateHK’s 3rd First Feature Film Initiative open category award and was finally able to complete the film project he had been presenting at the film project markets.

In the same year, Lau took part at the Golden Horse Film Academy, led by director Hou Hsiao-hsien. He is the founder of Hummingbird Production and is currently developing his frst feature.

Jun Li’s essays has been published in MingPao Daily, Initium Media, and Zihua. His short flm My World was nominated for the Best Short Feature at the 55th Golden Horse Awards, and Liu Yang He won the Best Film Award and Best Director Award at the 11th Freshwave Short Film Competition. In 2018, his acting debut I Miss You When I See You premiered at the Hong Kong International Film Festival and his directorial debut Tracey premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival. His second feature Drifting (in development) won the JQ Picture Award at the Golden Horse Film Project Promotion. His play Song of Grief won the 5th Young Playwright Award and was produced in 2018, to rerun in 2019.

Jow Zhi Wei is an alumnus of the 2010 Golden Horse Film Academy in Taiwan. He has made three short films, Outing (San Sebastian International Film Festival 2010), Waiting (Busan International Film Festival 2010) and After The Winter (Cannes Film Festival – Cinéfondation Selection 2013). He is currently working on his frist feature film project, Tomorrow is a Long Time’(Jerusalem Sam Spiegel Film Lab, Berlinale Talent Project Market, Berlinale Talents Tokyo and Golden Horse Film Project Promotion).
Since joining the industry, Jonathan has been involved as various roles in numerous projects including commercials, video series, short flms and feature flms.

Since joining the industry, Jonathan has been involved as various roles in numerous projects including commercials, video series, short films and feature films. In 2011, Jonathan was selected as one of the twelve Chinese film makers from around the world, chosen to attend the 2011 Golden Horse Film Academy, headed by acclaimed director, Hou Hsiao-Hsien. He is also one of the mentors for the inaugural national film competition, cine65. Apart from flmmaking, Jonathan is also involved in other art forms such as photography, theatre and visual arts. His installation piece, “Enlightenment” was showcased at an artist books exhibition, “Center to Periphery”, together with other Singaporean and Japanese artists. He is currently a Director of Photography with Big 3 Media.

Jevons Au graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2004. His early directorial works include awards-winning independent short flms and videos Hung (2003), Taxi (2004), among others. His short flm Merry X’mas (2007) won the Fresh Wave Award 2007 and the Fresh Wave Best Film Award (Open Division). After joining Milkyway Image, he worked as one of the screenwriters of Romancing in Thin Air (2012), and Don’t Go Breaking My Heart (2011) which was nominated as Best Screenplay at the 31st HKFA. He is also one of the directors who flmed Ten Years (2015),
the HKFA Best Film. In 2016, he co-directed HKFA Best Film Trivisa with Frank Hui and Vicky Wong, whom he shares the Best Director award with.
Jessey Tsang Tsui-shan is an independent flmmaker and video-maker

Jessey Tsang Tsui-shan is an independent filmmaker and video-maker. Her early works are short pieces based on the lives of herself and the people around her. In 2008, Tsang released her frst feature Lovers on the Road (2008), won the Best Feature award at the 2009 South Taiwan Film and Video Festival. Her second feature, Big Blue Lake (2011), won several awards in Hong Kong and internationally, such as the Jury Prix at the Shanghai International Film Festival, Best New Director at the Hong Kong Film Awards and New Artist Award by the Hong Kong Art Development Council.
Eva Tang graduated with a Masters in directing from The National Film & Television School, UK

Eva Tang graduated with a Masters in directing from The National Film & Television School, UK. Her short films have been screened in Venice, Rotterdam, and National Gallery of Art (USA). Eva was selected for the 2009 Berlinale Talents, 2010 Torino FilmLab, and 2010 Taipei Golden Horse Film Academy. She co-directed two well-loved documentaries Old Places (2010) and Old Romances (2012) that reminisce the disappearing memories in Singapore which have set the trend for heritage documentation and have created a huge following. She completed her debut feature documentary The Songs We Sang, which premiered at the 26th Singapore International Film Festival presented by The Esplanade Theatre. It is hailed by The Straits Times as one of the best movies in 2015.
Chiang Wei Liang is an alumnus of the Golden Horse Film Academy

After spending decades of creating glass artworks, Chang has returned to cinema. Chang set up an animation studio in Shanghai as a commitment to his deceased friend, the great Edward Yang, who dreamt of creating animation films,. Alvin Lee graduated from the prestigious Beijing Film Academy. Lee’s short flms have won top awards at various film festivals. Lee is also a scholar under the Singapore Infocomm Media Development Authority’s Media Education Scheme (Film). His previous short flm Bon Voyage has won the Best Director and Best Sound at the 6th Singapore Short Film Awards. Recently his short flm Seed won Best New Director at 2016 China Short Film Golden Hummingbird Award and Best Actress at 2017 Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia. His graduation short flm, A Time For Us premiered in the 29th Singapore International Film Festival “Silver Screen Award” Competition Section and won the “Jury Special Award” in 22nd Cinemaubit International Student Film Festival.
