Tibet and Xinjiang Shorts
电影节和华语独立电影串流平台CathayPlay 合作推出两部来自中国新疆和一部来自西藏的记录短片。从维吾尔语电影《如吾的夏天》《我的选择》到藏语作品《索朗热登》，从维吾尔族的女性的选择到藏族牧牛老人的坚持，让我们看到不同世界的关注。
SCFF and CathayPlay, an independent Chinese film streaming platform, jointly launch two short documentaries from Xinjiang, China and one from Tibet. These include Uyghur films Her Summer and My Choice and Tibetan production An Old Herdsman. These series of short films illustrate the choices of Uyghur women, and the persistence of Tibetan cattle herders.

简介 Synopsis:
索朗热登，生活在西藏牧区的一个普通老牧民。从29岁开始戒肉食素，他一生没有娶妻生子。以前有个哥哥和他相依为命，后来哥哥去世了只剩下他一人。他平时对待家畜如生命挚友，甚至很多人觉得能够投胎到他家做牦牛是上辈子积德行善的成果。
Sonam Raten, an ordinary old herdsman living in the pastoral area in Tibet became a vegetarian in his 20’s. He never married and used to live with his late brother. He usually treats domestic animals like his best friends: Many people even think that a reincarnation as a yak into his house is a result of good karma.

简介 Synopsis:
少不更事的妮鲁帕尔不顾母亲的反对，未成年就和男朋友结婚，有了孩子。婚姻没有她想象中的美好，而如今她除了坚强地生活，别无选择。该纪录片尽量以客观的视角展现了一个早婚少女婚后的生活。在片中，妮鲁帕尔谈着自己曾经的梦想和将来的计划，然而她眼前的生活与她的理想全然相悖。她以自己的幻想麻痹自己，从孩子的可爱中获得欣慰，从而在现实中麻痹自己，坚强地活着。
Nilufer marries her husband at a young age despite her mother’s objection. Now, with a child, life after marriage is not as wonderful as she imagined but she has to live with her choice. This documentary presents a young housewife’s life in an objective perspective.
In the film, Nilufer talks about her dreams with passion, but the life she is living is totally different. She remains optimistic about her future, although it seems like she is trying to numb herself with her dreams so that she can stay strong in real life.
